Luxury Boutique Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in East Sussex

Accommodation

Drawing Room & Dining Areas

There is a large elegant drawing room, where guests can sit and enjoy tea and cake and pre-dinner drinks. On a warm summer's day, tea is served on the terrace and dinner under the vine-covered pergola.

The Bedrooms

The accommodation comprises one double and three twin/double bedded rooms. One room is with en-suite bathroom, one with en-suite shower room and two with private bathrooms and showers.

All rooms are extremely quiet with lovely views and all individually decorated in typical country house style.

The beds are very comfortable with old-fashioned Irish linen and Egyptian cotton sheets with wool blankets.

The Grounds

The garden was redesigned in 1985 and is now well established with a large flower garden, orchard and lake. From early spring with the bulbs, camellias and azaleas the colours continue through the summer to autumn.

Old Whyly bed and breakfast in winter

For the more energetic guests there are many varied walks directly from the house across the adjoining estate, stud farm and woodlands with spectacular views to the South Downs.

A hard tennis court in the orchard is available to all the guests.

In summer you can laze by the secluded wisteria-shaded swimming pool with its pool house in the corner of the garden.

The house is beautiful, its bedrooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable and its grounds are a pleasure to explore. Housekeeping was attentive yet not the slightest bit intrusive; our room was tidied and our beds were made several times a day yet on not a single occasion were we disturbed. The lady of the house, Sarah, was a delightful host whose breakfasts were tasty and filling but whose dinners stole the show.
