This is a beautiful manor home with lovely furnishings and perineal gardens.
Sarah and Lea are also amazing chefs. In other words, you will want to come back again and again from the minute you cross the threshold. Indeed, we noticed that most of the comments in the guest book were about how wonderful it was to be back at the Old Whyly. Make your reservations early!

This is an ideal B&B particularly for those visiting nearby Glynebourne. Was so glad to have spent the extra night so that we could have dinner prepared by Sarah and served in the beautiful dining room. Sharing the table with other guests made it like the best country house dinner party.

A really special B&B - a beautiful house with attractive bedrooms with very comfortable beds, and a gorgeous garden with a lovely swimming pool. Sarah is a first class
hostess and a superb cook. Breakfasts are excellent and her homemade compote and preserves a real treat. The idyllic, peaceful location is just 15 minutes from Glyndebourne so perfect for opera lovers whose company we enjoyed in the dining room each morning.

We stayed 2 nights at Old Whyly. Sarah is a charming owner and very open and friendly. Dinner was fantastic. Atmosphere great. We had dinner with other quests in dining room. A Danish- Grench couple which lives in Edinburgh.Their nephew from NY, grown up in Nice and LA. Couple from Catburry. Great talks supported by the atmosphere, hospitality and openess of Old Whyly team. Garden is superb, we had a swim in the pool. All great. Many Thanks to Satah, Derek and Lea.

Update on 13th of April 26:
Room rating 5*. We stayed for another 2 days on our way to the Cotswolds. Sarah and Lea were a lovely host. Welcome, dinner, room, garden, breakfast, … I am not able to name everything which was great, fantastic and lovely. Best place to start our UK holidays after car drive and ferry from Germany. @sarah: we will see you next year again. 😍

Have returned from the loveliest stay at Old Whyly. Everything here was perfect. The setting of formal gardens with ancient trees and countless roses, the fabulous cuisine prepared and served by the charming hostess, Sarah, and the elegance of the house itself. It is well placed for Glyndebourne, and Sissinghurst, and many other notable National Trust and interesting destinations and is set in beatiful unspoilt countryside.
We stayed three days at Old Whyly, an elegant house and garden in the heart of East Sussex. The room was absolutely beautiful, with a lovely view, comfortable beds, and a very good en-suite bathroom. Sarah Burgoyne, the owner, prepared two excellent meals for us, a relaxing end to a day of traveling, and a day visiting Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens. We enjoyed the added bonus of chatting with Lea, the housekeeper, and being greeted by Minnie, the young spaniel. Old Whyly is less than twenty minutes from the Glyndebourne Opera.
I highly recommend this gem of an inn.

On our English Garden Tour last April, we stayed at the Old Whyly and had a wonderful, beautiful and welcoming experience. Though it was a short stay we really enjoyed the lovely house, surroundings and a marvellous English breakfast and we both agreed on returning and bringing our husbands with us the next time!

We came for a treat night away before exams start and had a most perfect time. From first contact via phone and email, through changing dates, to arrival and for our whole stay Sarah and Eva were so kind. Drinks by the fire, the dog playing ceaselessly in the beautiful garden with Minnie, Sarah's dog, delicious supper and a perfect nights' sleep - we had a lovely stay. Sarah was generous with her beautiful home and a relaxed and a entertaining host. We highly recommend.

We stayed for 3 nights at Old Whyly in May. What a wonderful experience - beautiful and historic property, comfortable and lovely accommodations, and wonderful food. Sarah made us feel right at home - the outside of the property and her gardens were beautiful. The location was quiet, but SO accessible to all the local places we wanted to see. And, we had the extra treat of meeting Sarah's delightful little dog Minnie. Highly recommend and hope to visit again soon.

An excellent place to stay - so good I recommended it to my parents, and there is no higher praise! Friendly and accommodating people, a beautiful garden, lovely house and excellent food. Not inexpensive, but the price reflects the standard.
